The Silver Dollar Group

The Silver Dollar Group was a secretive Klan cell formed around 1964 at the Shamrock Motor Hotel in Vidalia, Louisiana, reportedly by Raleigh Jackson "Red" Glover out of frustration that existing Klan groups in the area were not violent enough. Members, estimated at ten to twenty, each carried a silver dollar as a mark of identification. The group operated across Concordia Parish, Louisiana and Adams County, Mississippi — the Natchez–Ferriday area — roughly between 1964 and 1967, and retired FBI agents have since confirmed its existence and its suspected role in a string of unsolved killings and bombings in the region, including the three cases documented here. Glover died in 1984 without ever being charged.
